In this New Year of 2020 many seem to be thinking of ‘20/20 Vision’ as the word for the Year. In our hearts 2020 resonates with renewed and fresh vision, transforming how we are to live as we fulfill the destiny that God has placed before us. 2020 only comes once and with it the opportunity to see as He sees and to be transformed by the Holy Spirit as we are intentionally made aware of how to become spiritually fit and whole in spirit, soul and body. In this Newsletter we will look at the role quantum physics plays as it relates spiritually to the connection between the mind and the brain in overcoming un-forgiveness.
I remember years ago looking at a cartoon of an old country road that went on for miles with deep ruts made from the vehicles that traveled the road. The caption under the picture said, “Choose your rut carefully for you will be in it for the next 25 miles.” That is a picture of what happens in our brain. The brain reacts to a situation by using a set of patterns formed when repetitive memories become so deeply entrenched that they become our default response.
Our mind gives our brain the needed information it needs to make decisions. If the information received reflects the heart and intentions of God the more life-giving the results will be. Romans 12:2,“Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
When a toxic event happens to us, our minds can react in either a Godly or ungodly manner. Since our mind has the power to determine whether an event is either negative or positive it controls our long term response to the event. A mindset is an attitude, or a cluster of thoughts with attached information and emotions that builds memory/patterns in our brain which then generates a perception. After continued replaying of the event within our brain and reliving the subsequent emotions that are tied to the event, these memories can become ungodly strongholds in our brain, containing tremendous power over our lives.
A mindset is what you set your mind to do or an attitude that you adopt. Scientifically speaking they are a cluster of thoughts with information and emotions attached to them. No thought is emotionless. Every thought you choose has a connective attitude. They are either love attitudes that produce Godly fruit and life like those found in Gal. 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” or toxic attitudes that produce ungodly fruits and destruction such as is found in Gal. 5:19-21 “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
One stronghold which everyone struggles with is, unforgiveness. Changing a stronghold is something that we must be intent in doing every day. This is the physical wording of what it takes to be ‘transformed by the renewing of your mind’. We wake up in the morning and we put on our spiritual armor like we would put on our physical clothes. (read Eph. 6) This prepares us so that when a situation comes our way, either past or present, that has the potential to be toxic we can immediately recognize it and strip it of its toxicity and triumph over the situation.
Un-Forgiveness and Quantum Physics
Let’s begin by looking at the stronghold of un-forgiveness as it relates to the science of Quantum physics. Quantum physics deals with the smallest of things showing us that we are not just a physical body with all our cells and subatomic particles but we are also waves of energy. So yes, we can see each other on the physical level which describes the 1% that we can see and use Quantum physics to describe the 99% that we cannot see. Classical physics and Quantum physics together describes the physics side of how we function as humans. The science of Quantum physics demonstrates our spiritual nature, and how we function such as how our mind works in conjunction with our brain.
This concept gives us the ability to understand that when we forgive, we change something in the quantum world. If we have experienced multiple toxic experiences and have responded incorrectly towards those events we have created negative thought patterns which are embedded in our brain. Our response determines how strong our link is to the person or event. Quantum physics gives us the understanding as to why we are connected to those toxic experiences and how to un-connect ourselves from them.
Physics helps us understand the physical world, what we can see, Quantum physics helps us understand what we cannot see. The physical has a time component and a space component. I’m sitting here your sitting there, it is now 12:02 soon it will be 12:03. That’s in the physical but in the quantum world there is no space between us, there is no time occurring between us. When we relive the event in our brain we are choosing to not forgive making the rut in our brain deeper and even more toxic. This makes the trigger that causes us to relive the event easily accessible to us and the subsequent emotions caused by reliving the event even more powerful. Making the memory of the event to have as negative an impact on your mind, and emotions as if it just happened. The good news for all is that when we speak aloud to choose to forgive through the power of God He cancels the toxic spiritual rights that we have given to be tormented. The transformation then begins as He gives us a supernatural gift of grace to truly forgive from our heart.
This brings us to the next step in our ongoing transformation to live in life and freedom. Let’s look at 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.3 “For though walking about in flesh, we do not war according to flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, pulling down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought into the obedience of Christ;” Mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. ‘Pulling down’ denotes decisive action on our part to use the weapons of our warfare to pull them down! As you do this your trial becomes your testimony and the power that the trial had over you, fear, anger, frustration, un-forgiveness etc. is turned into the power of the testimony, which is love, peace, joy etc. It is not a passive move on our part but one that knows our Lord and the power and might that He gives us as we cast down the arguments and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Knowing His word and living by His precepts are an important part of our warfare. In taking every thought captive means it is not a sin to have a fleeting thought of unforgiveness or thoughts that are impure but it reopens the rut to choose to continue to allow the toxic thoughts to progress in our thinking. We must train ourselves through the power of the Holy Spirit within us to take every thought captive to His obedience and be quick to ask for His help.
Our prayer is that we will choose to draw near to Him and live each day of 2020 with transformed and renewed minds bringing fresh spiritual vision as we are awakened and revived in His great love and power. Happy New Year!
