Everyone, to some degree, is interested in what the Holy Spirit has/is revealing to the church concerning the year ahead. I find most revelations fall into one of two categories, either everything is coming up roses or it’s the end of the world. It seems like there are just not many middle of the road prophecies out there. As I sat down to prepare for this article I thought that perhaps I should read over last January’s newsletter. The article began by saying that “one event will hardly have a chance to be spoken of when another event will transpire.”
As I reviewed all that transpired this past year, it was easy to see that this has been one crazy, chaotic year. A new President, a plethora of tweets, the appointment of a Special Counsel, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria which caused damage estimated in the tens of billions of dollars. One island was nearly made uninhabitable and two locations received more than 60 inches of rain. And who could forget the wild fires that scorched California, Montana and other western states.
The last half of the Newsletter was about the return of the female Goddess of the Chaldeans known as the ‘Whore of Babylon’. This Goddess was known for two things, first as a lover of war and next as the goddess of sexual impulses. First, it unleashed a ‘spirit of lawlessness’ across our country. From the streets of Las Vegas and NY, to the church shooting in Texas and countless places in between the lover of war has certainly been waging a battle against all things decent and right.
Next, the goddess of sexual impulses became exposed, birthing the ‘me too’ movement which exposed countless politicians, news broadcasters, actors, business men and institutions, all accused of having a history of inappropriate and unwanted sexual advances towards women.
Also mentioned in the Newsletter was the Chaldeans love for alchemy and sorcery. Sorcery is where we get the word ‘pharmakeia’ or pharmacy. I cannot think of anything more destructive or sinister than the intentional act that our pharmaceutical companies engaged in, that unleashed the opioid/heroin addiction that is currently raging in our country. Remember the pharmaceutical companies in the late 1990’s assured the medical community that patients would not become addicted to prescription opioid pain relievers. What is absurd is that trained medical doctors and hospital administrators could have possibly come to the conclusion that, opioids which are referred to as opiates, would be anything but highly addictive. Opium dulls the senses, causes stupor and lulls the person into a false sense of serenity. We are even more beguiled if we think that legalizing ‘recreational’ marijuana will not also foster a culture of addiction. Or that the master mind behind its legalization is not satan. A demonic influence can be found within all mind altering addictions and one of the prevalent ways in which someone can be demonically oppressed is by being addicted. Deception mixed with craftiness is satan’s drug of choice because it will entice you to try and believe anything. Even to the point of persuading intelligent men to believe that an opiate is not addictive.
As I lay awake the other night praying about the New Year, several scriptures came to my mind. The first is found in 2 Corinthians 2:9-11. It begins with v 9, “…to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.” v 10, speaks of the importance of forgiveness and v11. “…in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” There are four things mentioned here in this passage. First, we are being tested in our obedience to God. Secondly, our test has to do with our willingness to forgive. Third, satan’s plan to outwit us is through our unforgiveness, which keeps us and others in bondage. Fourth, God has revealed satan’s schemes to us so that we can defeat him. (Read Matthew 6:12-15)
John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy but I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” Satan’s plan is based on three things, to steal, kill and destroy. We also learn that God’s strategy to defeat Satan is based on the second half of the verse which says, ‘Jesus came’ (with the keys of forgiveness so) that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Satan’s purpose is to enslave and destroy all those that God loves. Once we are rescued our purpose is then to rescue others from satan’s snare. In Proverbs 24:11-12 it says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” If we continually allow the enemy to steal, kill and destroy us from within we will find our conscious becoming seared to the point that we will find no compassion within to save ourselves much less rescue those being led away to death and slaughter.
Proverbs 24:3 says “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established.” Through God’s wisdom (forgiveness) the dwelling place of God is built-in the hearts of men and through understanding (obedience) it is established. In these last days there are many who are being caught in the tempters snare and are even now being led away. The opioid epidemic and sexual perversions that abound in our society are but a few of the tools that satan is using to dull our senses, giving us a false sense of reasoning, leading us into even more debauchery.
The number eighteen (2018) as it relates to the Bible is symbolic of the word bondage. We can be held both physically and spiritually in bondage. Holding unforgiveness in our heart’s will lead us into desiring the company of other ‘wicked men’ who are in agreement with us leading our hearts into further distrust encouraging us to spread slander through our lips. Proverb 24:1 says, “Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company; for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.” The degree to which you have forgiven (Matthew 18:22) can be measured by the depth of your prayers for those you have forgiven. Proverbs 24:17-18, “Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice, or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.”
We believe that in this year of 2018 God will be alerting and awakening the church to the strategies of the enemy He is emphasizing the importance of Godly wisdom, forgiveness, and obedience to His precepts given to us from the Father’s heart to protect us from destruction. He is also calling those who failed in the past to a re-testing to stand the test of obedience. The bondage that incurred because of past failures are both physical and spiritual in nature. Forgiveness issues are the root cause of many of their failures. In the months to come, God will be exposing the current plans of the enemy. He will also show us how the enemy outwitted us in the past by stealing, killing and destroying the fullness of life that God intended for us to walk in. As we overcome the schemes of the enemy we will begin to walk in the fullness of God’s plan and destiny that He designed for our lives. Awareness and Restoration are key!
