If AI, facial cloning, and robotics were to become uncontrolled and autonomous, global chaos could result. It is possible that these technologies could be used by false prophets and apostles, as well as those masquerading as messengers of Christ, to not only create the mark of the beast but bring about counterfeit miracles, signs, and wonders. This could lead to disruption and confusion around the world, potentially hastening the return of our King and Lord.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become increasingly common, from virtual assistants like Alexa and Siri to computer systems that can perform speech and facial recognition. AI is capable of impressive feats, such as those demonstrated by SpaceX rockets equipped with AI that can take off, deliver payloads, and safely return and land at their launchpad. ChatGPT is a cutting-edge technology that has the potential to revolutionize our lives and workplaces, similar to how personal computers have changed our lives since the 70s. It can completely transform how we interact with and use technology. The next version of this powerful technology, ChatGPT 3, is due out in less than a year. Although ChatGPT may be beneficial, we must understand the potential advantages and risks accompanying these new technologies to ensure they are used safely and responsibly.
The book of Revelation does not explicitly mention AI or deep fakes; however, it does speak of false prophets and apostles, along with deceitful workers masquerading as apostles of Christ. (Read – Matthew 24). Additionally, it warns of a deceptive ‘mark of the beast’ that could be used to control people’s lives (Read – Revelation 13). Lastly, it speaks of the ultimate deception – the coming of the antichrist, which could be created and aided with the help of AI and deep fakes.
Our world has become a hotbed of false and misleading information, luring us from the truth. Acquiring Godly wisdom is the only way that we will be able to decipher what is fact from fiction. Therefore, seeking and acquiring godly wisdom is essential as it is the only source of knowledge and understanding we should pursue. Receiving information from an AI that is controlled by a ‘bad character,’ ‘evil entity,’ or ‘rogue nation’ is dangerous. The devil can and will use any means to deceive people and lead them astray. We must be guided only by God’s wisdom and be wary of anything that contradicts His teachings. The phrase “lawless one” appears three times in the Bible – twice in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9 and once in 1 John 4:3. In 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9, it is used to describe the “man of sin” and the “son of perdition.” 1 John 4:3 refers to false teachers who deceive many people. 2 Thess 2:9 says, “The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie.”
With the rise of AI tools such as ChatGPT and IoT, there is a real concern about machines’ potential to overtake human intelligence. Already, AI can collect and analyze data from our devices to gain an unprecedented understanding of our behavior, habits, movements, location, and contacts. This level of insight into our lives presents both exciting opportunities and concerning implications – as tech giant Elon Musk has warned, “CHATGPT is scary good. We are not far from the creation of a dangerously strong AI.” We must remain aware of AI’s potential dangers while striving to realize its many benefits.
AI technology has enabled us to recreate a person’s image, movements, and speech so accurately that it can deceive even their closest friends. Deep learning algorithms can clone a voice in minutes, allowing deep fakes to match words to feelings and facial expressions. This level of sophistication is concerning, as it becomes easier to interfere in elections, cause political tension, and commit other criminal activities with almost undetectable deception. AI can listen and answer questions using natural language processing (NLP) algorithms. These algorithms are trained to understand how people communicate, such as slang, figures of speech, and other nuances of speech. AI also uses sophisticated machine learning techniques to learn and, better understand a person’s intent, thus responding with appropriate information or advice. By combining these technologies, AI can provide a realistic conversational experience, making it feel like you are talking to an actual person.
Robots like Mecca and Sophia are two of the most advanced robots currently in existence. Both robots utilize advanced AI technology, such as deep learning and natural language processing, to understand their environment. Their capabilities include facial recognition, object manipulation, and conversing meaningfully with humans. They also have realistic facial features, making them almost impossible to distinguish from actual humans. They are true examples of how far robotics and AI technology have come in a short period of time.
Robots are becoming increasingly realistic, and there is potential for them to be used as well-trained armies in the near future. AI technology is rapidly advancing and making machines more capable, with some robots already able to learn and adapt to their surroundings. Additionally, advancements in robotics, combined with AI algorithms, have enabled the creation of sophisticated autonomous robots with the potential to be used in various applications. Robots can move with a high degree of accuracy and precision. They are capable of accurately sensing their environment and responding to various stimuli. Additionally, robots can learn and adapt to new situations, providing them with the potential to be used in many different applications.
In 1973, the movie ‘Westworld’ was released, featuring an unforgettable performance by Yule Brynner as a malfunctioning robotic human. His evil character was an example of what can go wrong when a person’s better angels are not programmed into the AI robots. There is also the risk of a malicious hacker gaining access to AI technology and converting it into a weapon of destruction. Jet-powered flyboards, such as the ones showcased at the 2019 Bastille Day military parade, are incredibly capable machines. They possess powerful engines and sophisticated AI technology, enabling them to fly autonomously or manually operate with high accuracy and precision. Additionally, robots can be programmed to carry out various tasks and potentially be used in military applications. Military forces can gain a distinctive edge in warfare by combining robotics, AI algorithms, and jet-powered flyboards.
People are concerned when an AI is sentient because it has the potential to think and act independently, with no human input or oversight. This type of technology has the potential to be powerful and unpredictable, making the control of such AI highly important. There is a risk that a nation or group of sentient robots could go rogue, resulting in potentially hazardous consequences. As such, proper precautions must be taken to ensure this type of AI’s safe and responsible use.
Heavenly Father, we pray for Your guidance and protection as we navigate these difficult times. Give us strength to remain steadfast in our faith, and protect us from the potential for disruption and chaos. Grant us wisdom to understand the impacts on our world and Biblical prophecy, and the courage and grace to face the days ahead. May we have hope and confidence in You, that we may be ready to rejoice when You come again. Amen. 2 Peter 3:17-18
